Questions about slug generator

The part of a URL that names one page, after the domain and any folder. In example.com/blog/trail-shoes, the slug is trail-shoes.

Hyphens. Google's URL structure guidelines recommend hyphens over underscores to separate words.

Often, when the meaning survives. trail-running-shoes-rocky-ground reads as well as the full title and is shorter. Keep them when the slug reads wrong without them.

Short enough to read at a glance. The tool flags slugs over 60 characters, a guide rather than a search engine rule.

Accents are dropped, so café becomes cafe. Pick German to spell ä, ö and ü as ae, oe and ue, or Cyrillic to spell Russian letters in Latin. Other scripts, such as Chinese, give an empty slug.
