No. It builds the file from the URLs you paste and makes no request to your site. Copy the prompt above if you want an agent to find the pages for you.

Google says it ignores changefreq and priority and reads lastmod when it is accurate. The fields are optional here and left out by default.

The sitemaps.org protocol allows up to 50,000 URLs and 50 MB uncompressed per file. The generator warns you when your list passes that count.
