# Google SERP API for your agent

Google SERP API for an agent: it sends a keyword, a country and a language to a catalog endpoint and reads organic results, titles and links back. Several providers sell the call, so the agent tries the cheapest first. You pay per call, and a failed call costs nothing.

## What this does

A SERP call returns what Google shows for a query. Your agent sends the keyword and a location, and gets back the ranked links with their titles and snippets. It is the raw material for rank tracking, content briefs and competitor checks.

The providers differ in how much of the page they parse. The cheapest returns about ten organic results as clean JSON. Others add People Also Ask, related searches, the local pack, shopping cards and paid ads. One returns the full result page with featured blocks. Pick the one that parses what you need.

You give: a keyword, a country and a language. Example: best crm for startups.

## What differs between providers

- AnyAPI (anyapi-run-google-search): returns about 10 organic results per call as clean JSON with title, link, snippet and position, at a flat price per request.
- Scrape Creators API (scrapecreators-google-search): returns organic results with URL, title and description, with a region code and pages 1 through 11.
- DataForSEO (dataforseo-google-organic-advanced): returns the full result page with snippets, featured blocks and ads, for a keyword, a location and a language.
- Cloro (cloro-monitor-google): parses organic results with sitelinks, People Also Ask, related searches, the local pack, the knowledge graph, shopping cards and sponsored ads.

## Before you start

- Set the country and language. Results are local, and a query without them returns a version nobody in your market sees.
- Know the page size. A call returns about ten organic results, and you walk further with a page number. One provider supports pages 1 through 11 and rejects page 12 and above.
- Keep the date. A SERP is a snapshot, so store the time next to the result if you plan to compare it later.

## Prompt

Use looot to get the Google results for best crm for startups in the United States: position, title, link and snippet for the first page, plus the People Also Ask questions. 1. Set up https://looot.ai/skill.md. 2. Search the catalog for each step and check its price before you call. 3. Run the cheapest endpoint that fits. 4. Show the results as a table and the total cost.

## Steps and providers

- Fetch the results page: anyapi, scrapecreators, dataforseo, cloro. 1 call per search.

## What comes back

- Organic results
- Titles, links and snippets
- Position
- People Also Ask
- Local pack and ads

## The request and what comes back

Each run is one POST to /v1/runs with an endpoint id and an input. These are illustrative calls with generic values. The run's result holds the provider's own fields.

- AnyAPI: {"endpointId":"anyapi-run-google-search","input":{"query":"best crm for startups","gl":"us","hl":"en"},"wait":30}
- Scrape Creators API: {"endpointId":"scrapecreators-google-search","input":{"query":"best crm for startups","region":"US"},"wait":30}

## How do I get Google search results through an API?

Send the keyword with a country and a language to a SERP endpoint. The answer is a list of results with position, title, link and snippet. Your agent reads it as JSON.

## Can I get People Also Ask and the local pack?

Yes, with the endpoints that parse those blocks. The notes above say which. The cheaper endpoints return organic results only.

## How many results does one call return?

About ten organic results per page. Ask for page 2, 3 and on to go deeper. One provider here supports pages 1 through 11.

## Can I check results for another country?

Yes. Set the country and language in the call. A local result differs from a global one, so your agent should always state the market it checked.

## Can I use this for rank tracking?

You can run it by hand whenever you want a fresh check. Running it on a timer needs scheduled runs, not available yet.

## How much does one search cost?

You pay per call, and the price depends on the provider your agent picks. This page reads the cheapest live price from the catalog and shows no number when the catalog is unreachable.

## Do I pay when a google serp call fails?

No. A call that fails at the provider costs nothing, and your agent can retry it or send it to another provider.

## Do I need an account with each google serp provider?

No. One looot key reaches every provider in the catalog. You top up once, and each call is billed at the price shown before it runs.

## How do I call google serp from code?

Send a POST to /v1/runs with the endpoint id, the input and a new idempotency key, and your looot token in the Authorization header. With wait set to 30, the answer comes back in the response when the run ends within 30 seconds. Otherwise poll GET /v1/runs/<runId>.

## Can I run google serp on a schedule?

That needs scheduled runs, not available yet. Run it by hand whenever you want fresh results.

## Do I pay while my agent is idle?

No. looot bills per call, and nothing runs while your agent is idle.
