# Professional email finder API for your agent

Professional email finder API for an agent: it sends a full name and a company domain to a catalog endpoint and reads work email, verification status and confidence score back. Several providers sell the call, so the agent tries the cheapest first. You pay per call, and a failed call costs nothing.

## What this does

You have a name and a company. You want the address that reaches that person at work. An email finder takes the name and the domain, tries the patterns the company uses, and returns an address it has seen or checked.

The providers differ in what else comes back. One returns the job title and the profile links with the address, another returns only the address and a status, and one works from a LinkedIn profile URL instead of a name. Which one answers depends on who you are looking for, so your agent can try the cheapest first and fall through on a miss.

You give: a full name and a company domain. Example: Jane Doe at example.com.

## What differs between providers

- Tomba (tomba-email-finder): takes a domain or company plus a full name, and returns a score, a verification status, the position and the sources where the address was seen.
- Icypeas (icypeas-email-find): takes domainOrCompany plus a first and last name, waits up to 60 seconds and returns each email with a certainty.
- LeadMagic (leadmagic-people-email-finder): returns the email with a status and company details such as industry and size.
- Hunter (hunter-email-finder): also accepts a LinkedIn handle alone, and returns the score, position, phone number and sources.
- Any Site API (anysite-api-linkedin-user-find-email-by-url): starts from a LinkedIn profile URL with the vanity alias and returns the email, its validity and the job title.

## Before you start

- Give the company's domain when you have it. A domain finds the right person more often than a company name, which can match several firms.
- Verify what you find. A found address that was never checked is a guess with a good reason behind it.
- A search that finds nothing is not billed by most providers here, so a miss costs you nothing. Check the endpoint page for the one you use.

## Prompt

Use looot to find the work email of Jane Doe at example.com, check that it is deliverable, and give me the address with its status. 1. Set up https://looot.ai/skill.md. 2. Search the catalog for each step and check its price before you call. 3. Run the cheapest endpoint that fits. 4. Show the results as a table and the total cost.

## Steps and providers

- Find the work email: tomba, icypeas, leadmagic, hunter, anysite. 1 call per person.

## What comes back

- Work email
- Verification status
- Confidence score
- Job title
- LinkedIn profile

## The request and what comes back

Each run is one POST to /v1/runs with an endpoint id and an input. These are illustrative calls with generic values. The run's result holds the provider's own fields.

- Tomba: {"endpointId":"tomba-email-finder","input":{"domain":"example.com","full_name":"Jane Doe"},"wait":30}
- Icypeas: {"endpointId":"icypeas-email-find","input":{"domainOrCompany":"example.com","firstname":"Jane","lastname":"Doe"},"wait":30}

## About privacy rules

looot returns data from providers and does not give legal advice. Check the privacy and email rules that apply to you and to your recipients before you build a list.

## How do I find someone's professional email address?

Send the person's name and the company domain to an email-finder endpoint. The provider returns the address it found, with a status or a score. Your agent can try the cheapest provider first and move on when one has no answer.

## Can I find an email from a LinkedIn profile URL?

Yes, with two of the providers here. Send the profile URL with the vanity alias, not the numeric id. One returns the email, its validity and the job title. The other accepts a LinkedIn handle in place of a name and domain.

## Why does the same name give different addresses on different providers?

Each provider holds its own data and its own checks. One may return an address it saw on a public page, another one it inferred from the company's pattern. Verify the address before you send.

## What if no provider finds an email?

Then the answer is empty and the agent says so. Most providers do not bill a search that finds nothing, and a call that fails at the provider costs you nothing.

## Is it legal to email someone I found this way?

That depends on where you and the recipient are and what you send. looot returns data from providers and gives no legal advice. Check the rules that apply to you before you run a campaign.

## How much does one person cost?

You pay per call, and the price depends on the provider your agent picks. This page reads the cheapest live price from the catalog and shows no number when the catalog is unreachable.

## Do I pay when a professional email finder call fails?

No. A call that fails at the provider costs nothing, and your agent can retry it or send it to another provider.

## Do I need an account with each professional email finder provider?

No. One looot key reaches every provider in the catalog. You top up once, and each call is billed at the price shown before it runs.

## How do I call professional email finder from code?

Send a POST to /v1/runs with the endpoint id, the input and a new idempotency key, and your looot token in the Authorization header. With wait set to 30, the answer comes back in the response when the run ends within 30 seconds. Otherwise poll GET /v1/runs/<runId>.

## Can I run professional email finder on a schedule?

That needs scheduled runs, not available yet. Run it by hand whenever you want fresh results.

## Do I pay while my agent is idle?

No. looot bills per call, and nothing runs while your agent is idle.
