# Company enrichment API for your agent

Company enrichment API for an agent: it sends a company domain to a catalog endpoint and reads company name, description and industry back. Several providers sell the call, so the agent tries the cheapest first. You pay per call, and a failed call costs nothing.

## What this does

A domain is enough to pull a company's profile. Your agent sends example.com and gets back what the provider holds: the name, what the firm does, how big it is and where it sits. That is the base layer for scoring a lead, routing an account or filling a CRM.

The providers split into light and deep. A light lookup returns the profile and some links. A deep one adds funding, web traffic, financials or the technologies a company runs. If your next step is a size filter, the light lookup is plenty. If it is a sales brief, pay for the deep one on the accounts that pass.

You give: a company domain. Example: example.com.

## What differs between providers

- Hunter (hunter-companies-find): returns the industry category, company type, founded year, email provider, funding rounds and social profiles.
- Tomba (tomba-companies-find): adds legal name, industry codes (sector, SIC, NAICS) and the phone numbers and email addresses on the company's site.
- FullEnrich (fullenrich-api-company-lookup): matches by domain, LinkedIn URL or id and charges only when a company is found.
- LeadMagic (leadmagic-companies-company-search): takes a domain, a name or a LinkedIn URL and adds competitors and growth figures.
- Prospeo (prospeo-enrich-company): returns keywords and technologies with the profile, and is free when nothing matches.
- Aviato (aviato-company-enrich): takes one identifier, including a Crunchbase or Twitter id, and returns industries, headcount and links.
- Akta.pro API (akta-company-enrichment): returns only the sections you request: firmographics, funding, headcount, web traffic, business model or financials.
- People Data Labs (people-data-labs-company-enrich): takes a website, name, LinkedIn URL or ticker and returns size, employee count, industry, founding year and tags.

## Before you start

- Send the bare domain without a path. One provider wants the full website with its protocol, and your agent reads that on the endpoint page.
- Name the sections you need. One provider returns only the sections you ask for, so asking for fewer costs less.
- Cache results on your side. Only one provider here skips the charge for a company you enriched in the last 90 days, and your own copy is cheaper than any lookup.

## Prompt

Use looot to enrich example.com: return the company name, industry, employee range, headquarters and founding year, and flag any field the provider left empty. 1. Set up https://looot.ai/skill.md. 2. Search the catalog for each step and check its price before you call. 3. Run the cheapest endpoint that fits. 4. Show the results as a table and the total cost.

## Steps and providers

- Enrich the company: hunter, tomba, fullenrich, leadmagic, prospeo, aviato, akta, people-data-labs. 1 call per company.

## What comes back

- Company name and description
- Industry
- Headcount and range
- Headquarters
- Founded year
- Funding and tech stack when the provider has them

## The request and what comes back

Each run is one POST to /v1/runs with an endpoint id and an input. These are illustrative calls with generic values. The run's result holds the provider's own fields.

- Hunter: {"endpointId":"hunter-companies-find","input":{"domain":"example.com"},"wait":30}
- Tomba: {"endpointId":"tomba-companies-find","input":{"domain":"example.com"},"wait":30}

## What does company enrichment return?

At minimum a name, a description, an industry, a headcount and a location. Deeper providers add funding, technologies, web traffic and financials. The notes above say what each endpoint adds.

## Can I enrich a company from its name instead of a domain?

Several providers accept a name, and one also accepts a ticker. A domain matches more reliably, because names collide. Send the domain when you have it.

## How do I enrich a whole list of companies?

Give your agent the file and name the domain column. It runs one lookup per row. Prospeo and Aviato also list bulk variants on their tool pages.

## Do I pay when nothing matches?

Not with most of these providers. Prospeo and FullEnrich say so on their pages, and a call that fails at the provider costs you nothing.

## Which provider has the freshest data?

That is not something a page can promise. Run the same ten domains through two providers and compare. Your agent can do that and show both answers side by side.

## How much does one company cost?

You pay per call, and the price depends on the provider your agent picks. This page reads the cheapest live price from the catalog and shows no number when the catalog is unreachable.

## Do I pay when a company enrichment call fails?

No. A call that fails at the provider costs nothing, and your agent can retry it or send it to another provider.

## Do I need an account with each company enrichment provider?

No. One looot key reaches every provider in the catalog. You top up once, and each call is billed at the price shown before it runs.

## How do I call company enrichment from code?

Send a POST to /v1/runs with the endpoint id, the input and a new idempotency key, and your looot token in the Authorization header. With wait set to 30, the answer comes back in the response when the run ends within 30 seconds. Otherwise poll GET /v1/runs/<runId>.

## Can I run company enrichment on a schedule?

That needs scheduled runs, not available yet. Run it by hand whenever you want fresh results.

## Do I pay while my agent is idle?

No. looot bills per call, and nothing runs while your agent is idle.
