# Domain keywords API for your agent

Domain keywords API for an agent: it sends a domain or a page URL to a catalog endpoint and reads organic keywords, paid keywords and ranking position back. Several providers sell the call, so the agent tries the cheapest first. You pay per call, and a failed call costs nothing.

## What this does

A competitor's ranked keywords are a map of what works for them. Your agent sends a domain and gets back the phrases it appears for, the position it holds and how many people search each phrase. Sort by traffic and the pages worth studying rise to the top.

Three endpoints answer this in different ways. One lists both the organic keywords and the ones the domain pays for. One lists what a domain or a single page ranks for, with the result types around it. One lists the keywords relevant to a site, with categories and a 12-month volume trend.

You give: a domain or a page URL. Example: example.com.

## What differs between providers

- Adyntel (adyntel-domain-keywords): lists the keywords a domain ranks for organically and the ones it pays for on Google, with a limit and a language.
- DataForSEO (dataforseo-dataforseo-labs-google-ranked-keywords-live-ai): lists what a domain or a page ranks for, with the result types, impressions and monthly searches, plus filters and ordering.
- DataForSEO (dataforseo-dataforseo-labs-google-keywords-for-site-live): returns keywords relevant to a site with categories, last-month volume, cost per click, competition and a 12-month trend.

## Before you start

- Choose the location and language. Rankings are local, and a domain can rank first in one country and not at all in the next.
- Set a limit. A large site ranks for hundreds of thousands of keywords, and results are billed per call, so ask for the top slice first.
- Look at one page at a time when you can. One endpoint accepts a page URL, and the keyword set of a single article is easier to act on than that of a whole site.

## Prompt

Use looot to list the keywords example.com ranks for in Google in the United States, with position, monthly searches and cost per click, and show the top 50 by traffic. 1. Set up https://looot.ai/skill.md. 2. Search the catalog for each step and check its price before you call. 3. Run the cheapest endpoint that fits. 4. Show the results as a table and the total cost.

## Steps and providers

- List the keywords of a domain: adyntel, dataforseo. 1 call per domain.

## What comes back

- Organic keywords
- Paid keywords
- Ranking position
- Monthly searches
- Cost per click

## The request and what comes back

Each run is one POST to /v1/runs with an endpoint id and an input. These are illustrative calls with generic values. The run's result holds the provider's own fields.

- Adyntel: {"endpointId":"adyntel-domain-keywords","input":{"company_domain":"example.com","limit":50},"wait":30}
- DataForSEO: {"endpointId":"dataforseo-dataforseo-labs-google-ranked-keywords-live-ai","input":{"target":"example.com","location_name":"United States","language_code":"en","limit":50},"wait":30}

## How do I see which keywords a domain ranks for?

Send the domain to a ranked-keywords endpoint. The answer lists the phrases the site appears for, with the position and the monthly searches. Sort by traffic to find the pages that matter.

## Can I see the keywords a competitor pays for?

Yes. One of the providers here returns both the organic keywords and the paid ones in the same call, for Google.

## Can I check a single page instead of a domain?

Yes, with the ranked-keywords endpoint. Send the page URL as the target and the answer covers that page only.

## How current is the data?

Rankings change as search results change, and each provider refreshes its index on its own schedule. The endpoint page states what it returns. For a decision, run the check once and keep the date with the result.

## How much does one domain cost?

You pay per call, and the price depends on the provider your agent picks. This page reads the cheapest live price from the catalog and shows no number when the catalog is unreachable.

## Do I pay when a domain keywords call fails?

No. A call that fails at the provider costs nothing, and your agent can retry it or send it to another provider.

## Do I need an account with each domain keywords provider?

No. One looot key reaches every provider in the catalog. You top up once, and each call is billed at the price shown before it runs.

## How do I call domain keywords from code?

Send a POST to /v1/runs with the endpoint id, the input and a new idempotency key, and your looot token in the Authorization header. With wait set to 30, the answer comes back in the response when the run ends within 30 seconds. Otherwise poll GET /v1/runs/<runId>.

## Can I run domain keywords on a schedule?

That needs scheduled runs, not available yet. Run it by hand whenever you want fresh results.

## Do I pay while my agent is idle?

No. looot bills per call, and nothing runs while your agent is idle.
