# Build your own signal engine with an agent

Watch hiring, job changes, funding, tech changes, news and new ads for your accounts. One agent, one prompt per signal, billed per call.

## Setup

Give your agent one line: set up https://looot.ai/skill.md. Approve the connection in the browser. Then paste the prompt below.

## Hiring

Prompt: Read my accounts table. For each company, find open sales roles posted in the last 7 days and list the accounts with a new role, with the job title and the posting link.

- TheirStack (theirstack): Job postings by company
- Coresignal (coresignal): Company and job data

## Job changes

Prompt: Read my contacts table. For each person, check whether the current employer or title changed since the last row I stored, and list the people who moved.

- Coresignal (coresignal): Role history
- Aviato (aviato): Founder and executive data
- People Data Labs (people-data-labs): Person records

## Funding

Prompt: Read my accounts table. For each company, find any funding round announced in the last 90 days, with the amount, the stage and the date, and list the accounts that raised.

- Aviato (aviato): Startup funding data
- Coresignal (coresignal): Company records
- People Data Labs (people-data-labs): Company records

## Tech change

Prompt: Read my accounts table. For each domain, list the technologies the site uses, compare with the list I stored last time, and show which tools were added or dropped.

- BuiltWith (builtwith): Tech stack of a site
- The Companies API (thecompaniesapi): Technology data
- People Data Labs (people-data-labs): Company technologies

## News

Prompt: Read my accounts table. For each company, search the news from the last 14 days and list the accounts with coverage worth a message, with the headline, the source and the link.

- NewsData.io (newsdata-io): News search
- Exa (exa): Web search
- Linkup (linkup): Web search

## New ads

Prompt: Read my accounts table. For each company, find the ads it runs on Facebook and Instagram, compare with the ads I stored last time, and list the accounts with a new ad and its start date.

- Adyntel (adyntel): Meta, Google, LinkedIn and TikTok ads
- ScrapeCreators (scrapecreators): Ad library data

## How the cost is computed

Cheapest priced endpoint of these providers, times 1,000 accounts, one call per account. A signal that needs two calls costs twice that. The numbers come from the live catalog.

The web page shows the live number, or price on request when no priced endpoint exists.

## The watch loop

A signal is a comparison between two runs. The agent keeps the last run in your Supabase.

Needs scheduled runs, not available yet. Today you ask your agent to run the loop when you want a fresh pass, and it does one pass.

looot does not send alerts. Your agent shows the diff in its own chat.

- Run the signal. The agent calls the provider for each account.
- Compare. It reads the last stored row for the same account and signal.
- Write the change. Only new or changed rows go to your signals table.
- Show the diff. It tells you what changed in the chat you already use.

## A signal SaaS or one run

A signal SaaS: Check their pricing page.

looot: billed per call, nothing while idle.

## How do I build my own signal engine?

Give your agent the setup file, then paste one prompt per signal. The agent reads your accounts, calls the data providers through looot, and writes what it finds to a table in your own Supabase. You pay per call.

## What is a buying signal?

A change at a company that makes a purchase more likely: new sales hires, a funding round, a new tool in the tech stack, a new ad campaign, a press mention, a champion changing jobs.

## Which signals can the agent watch today?

Hiring, job changes, funding, tech changes, news and new ads. Each one has a prompt and a provider list on this page. Some signals have no priced endpoint in the catalog yet, and the page shows price on request for those.

## How much does a signal cost per 1,000 accounts?

The page reads the live catalog and multiplies the cheapest priced endpoint by 1,000. If no priced endpoint matches, it shows price on request instead of a guess.

## Can it run on a schedule?

Not yet. Scheduled runs are not available. Your agent runs the loop when you ask, compares with the last stored run, and shows the diff.

## Does looot send alerts?

No. looot returns data. Your agent can show you the diff in the chat you already use.

## Where is the signal history stored?

In your own Supabase project. Each row keeps the source, the looot endpoint, the cost and the fetch time, so a signal alerts you once.

## How is this different from a signal SaaS?

A signal SaaS sells a seat and a fixed set of signals. Here you choose the provider and pay for each call. For the SaaS side, check their pricing page. This page shows no competitor price.

## Do I need to pick the provider myself?

No. Your agent asks for the task and looot ranks the providers by measured success, speed and price. The providers listed here are the ones the catalog uses for each signal.

## What does the agent need from me?

A list of accounts and one approval in the browser. Setup is one line, set up https://looot.ai/skill.md, and the agent does the rest.
