## How do I find the city for a ZIP code?

Type the ZIP code and the two letter country code in the box at the top of this page. You get the city, county, state, country and the coordinates of the area.

## How do I find the ZIP code of an address?

Type the full street address with the city. The lookup finds the place and shows the postal code that covers it.

## Why should I add the country code?

Many countries reuse the same numbers. 10001 is in New York, and also a postal code in other countries. The country code picks the right one.

## Is this ZIP code lookup free?

Yes. Each lookup in the box costs you nothing and is limited per hour. For a list, your agent runs the same lookup from your own looot account at the per-call price shown above.

## Does it work outside the US?

Yes. It reads postal codes and addresses worldwide. Coverage of street level addresses varies by country, so a code or a city works more often than a house number.

## Where does the data come from?

From OpenStreetMap, geocoded by OpenCage. The result card shows the OpenStreetMap credit and a link to its licence, as the data licence asks.

## Why is the postcode missing for my address?

OpenStreetMap does not have a postcode for every place. The card then shows the city and coordinates and says no postcode was found.
