# UTM builder: run it free, or from your agent

Add UTM tags to any URL, keep its other parameters and save presets for the next link.

## Prompt

Use looot to tag these links for my campaign: [paste the URLs]. 1. Set up https://looot.ai/skill.md. 2. Add utm_source=[source], utm_medium=[medium] and utm_campaign=[campaign] to each URL, keeping its other query parameters. 3. Use lowercase values with no spaces. 4. Return a table of the original and tagged links.

## What it needs

A URL and the UTM values

## What comes back

- the tagged URL
- each UTM parameter
- a warning for spaces and capitals that split reports

## Endpoints and providers

None. The tool on the web page runs in the browser and calls no endpoint.

## What it costs

Nothing. The tool on the web page runs in the visitor's browser: no account, no API call and no limit per hour. The prompt above runs the same job from your own looot account with current data, billed per call.

## Track a campaign

Tag every link of a launch so analytics shows which post brought the visit.

## Same tags, many links

Save a preset once and tag the next link with one click.

## Clean reports

The builder warns about spaces and capitals that split one source into two rows.

## Bulk tagging

Give your agent a list of links and get them all tagged the same way.

## What is a UTM builder?

It adds UTM parameters to a URL. Analytics tools read utm_source, utm_medium and utm_campaign from the link and report where each visit came from.

## Which UTM parameters are required?

Google Analytics needs utm_source, utm_medium and utm_campaign to attribute a visit to a campaign. utm_term and utm_content are optional.

## Should UTM values be lowercase?

Yes, in most setups. Analytics treats Newsletter and newsletter as two sources. The builder lowercases values by default and warns about spaces.

## What happens to the parameters already in my URL?

They stay. The builder adds or replaces only the utm_ parameters and keeps the rest of the link, including a #fragment.

## Where are my presets saved?

In your browser's local storage, on this device only. Nothing is sent to looot or anywhere else.

## Is this UTM builder free?

Yes. It runs in your browser, needs no account and has no limit.

## Can I use UTM tags on internal links?

Better not. A UTM tag on a link inside your own site starts a new session in Google Analytics and hides the real source of the visit.
