# QR code generator: run it free, or from your agent

QR codes for links, WiFi, email, phone and SMS. PNG or SVG download, custom colors, no expiry and no tracking redirect.

## Prompt

Use looot to find [type of business] in [city] with their websites, then make a QR code for each one. 1. Set up https://looot.ai/skill.md. 2. Search the catalog for a Google Maps or places endpoint and check its price before you call. 3. Run it and keep the name and website of each place. 4. Make one PNG QR code per website with a local QR library, named after the place. 5. Return the list and the file names.

## What it needs

A link, text, WiFi login, email address or phone number

## What comes back

- QR code image as PNG
- QR code as SVG
- QR version and size
- bytes used out of the maximum

## Endpoints and providers

None. The tool on the web page runs in the browser and calls no endpoint.

## What it costs

Nothing. The tool on the web page runs in the visitor's browser: no account, no API call and no limit per hour. The prompt above runs the same job from your own looot account with current data, billed per call.

## Print a link

Put your site, menu or booking page on a flyer, a poster or a table card.

## WiFi for guests

Let guests join your network by pointing a phone camera at the code.

## Contact in one scan

Open a prefilled email, a call or a text message from a business card.

## Brand colors

Match the code to your print, then keep enough contrast for cameras to read it.

## Is this QR code generator free?

Yes, with no signup, no watermark and no limit. The codes are made in your browser.

## Do these QR codes expire?

No. They are static codes: the text or link is stored in the pattern itself. Nothing points through a service that could switch off, so the code works as long as the link does.

## Can I track scans?

Not with a static code, since no server sees the scan. To count scans, point the code at a link with UTM parameters and read the visits in your analytics.

## How do I make a QR code for WiFi?

Pick WiFi, type the network name and password and choose the security type. Phone cameras on current iOS and Android offer to join the network when they read it.

## PNG or SVG?

SVG for print and anything that gets resized, since it stays sharp at every size. PNG for documents, slides and chat apps. The PNG goes up to about 2,048 pixels wide.

## Which error correction level should I pick?

M recovers about 15% damage and suits most uses. Pick H, about 30%, if the code will get scratched or you put a small logo over the middle. Higher levels make the code denser.

## How much text fits in a QR code?

Up to 2,953 bytes at level L and 1,273 bytes at level H. Long text makes dense codes that are hard to scan, so a short link is better for print.

## Can I change the colors?

Yes. Keep the code darker than the background and the contrast high. The page warns when the colors are inverted or too close, and where your browser has a QR reader it reads the code back to check it scans.

## Is the data I type sent anywhere?

No. The code is built on this page. Your WiFi password and links stay in your browser.
