# Mock data generator: run it free, or from your agent

Up to 1,000 rows of fake test data as JSON, JSON Lines or CSV from a field list.

## Prompt

Use looot to build test fixtures for my API: [describe the records]. 1. Set up https://looot.ai/skill.md. 2. Write the field list with a type per field. 3. Make 50 rows with example.com emails and placeholder names, as JSON. 4. Run my agent's tests against the rows and report any field that breaks.

## What it needs

A field list with types, a row count and a seed

## What comes back

- rows as JSON
- rows as JSON Lines
- rows as CSV with a header
- the same rows for the same seed

## Endpoints and providers

None. The tool on the web page runs in the browser and calls no endpoint.

## What it costs

Nothing. The tool on the web page runs in the visitor's browser: no account, no API call and no limit per hour. The prompt above runs the same job from your own looot account with current data, billed per call.

## Seed a dev database

Fill a local table with rows that look real without copying production data.

## Keep real people out

Test with placeholder names and example.com emails, never customer records.

## Agent fixtures

Give an agent a fixed set of rows to test against, the same every run.

## Demo a UI

Load a table or a chart with enough rows to see how it looks.

## Which field types can I use?

name, first_name, last_name, email, uuid, date, datetime, integer, number, boolean, enum, company, city, country, url and text. Enums take values in brackets, numbers take a range: age: integer(18, 90).

## How many rows can I make?

Up to 1,000 per run. Change the seed to get a different set.

## What does the seed do?

The same field list, row count and seed always give the same rows, so tests stay stable. New seed gives a new set.

## Are the emails real?

No. They use example.com, example.org and example.net, domains reserved for examples, so no real inbox gets mail.

## Which formats can I download?

A JSON array, JSON Lines with one object per line, or CSV with a header row. CSV cells that start with = + - or @ are escaped so a spreadsheet does not run them.

## Is it free?

Yes. It runs in your browser, needs no account and has no limit.
