## What meta tags does a page need?

At least a title, a meta description and a canonical link. Add Open Graph and Twitter card tags so the page shows a title, text and image when it is shared.

## How long should a meta title be?

Search engines cut titles by width, not a fixed count. About 50 to 60 characters usually shows in full. The generator warns past 60.

## How long should a meta description be?

Around 150 to 160 characters shows in full on most desktop results. The generator warns past 160. Google may rewrite it either way.

## What are Open Graph tags?

Tags such as og:title, og:description and og:image that tell social apps and chat apps what to show when someone shares your link.

## What size should the share image be?

1200 by 630 pixels is the common size for Open Graph and large Twitter cards. Use an absolute https URL so apps can fetch it.

## Is the preview exactly what Google shows?

No. It is an estimate of the layout. Google decides the final title and snippet, and each social app draws its card a little differently.
