## What it needs

Text and an optional target keyword

## What comes back

- count and density of the target keyword
- top one word keywords
- top two and three word phrases
- phrases over 3 percent flagged
- CSV download

## Endpoints and providers

- context-dev: context-dev-web-scrape-markdown

## What it costs

Nothing. The tool on the web page runs in the visitor's browser: no account, no API call and no limit per hour. The prompt above runs the same job from your own looot account with current data, billed per call.

## Check a draft

See whether the target keyword appears at all, and how often.

## Avoid stuffing

Spot a phrase repeated so often that the text reads badly.

## Find your topics

The two and three word tables show what the text is really about.

## Check live pages

Have your agent read a page and run the same counts on it.

## How do I check keyword density?

Paste your text in the box at the top of this page and type the keyword you target. The tables and the keyword count update as you type.

## How is keyword density calculated?

The times a phrase appears, divided by the total number of words, times 100. A phrase used 5 times in a 500 word text has a density of 1 percent.

## What is a good keyword density?

Search engines publish no ideal number. Write for the reader and use the keyword where it fits. This tool flags anything over 3 percent as an editing rule of thumb, so you reread it.

## Does keyword density still matter for SEO?

Not as a target. Google's spam policies name keyword stuffing, and rankings depend on relevance and quality. Density helps you catch overuse or a keyword you forgot.

## Which common words does it skip?

Function words such as the, and, of, to and with. They top every list and say nothing about the topic. Untick the box to include them.

## Why are some two word phrases missing?

Two and three word phrases show only when they appear twice or more, so the table is not filled with one-off pairs.

## Is my text sent anywhere?

No. The checker runs in your browser and sends your text nowhere.

## Is this keyword density checker free?

Yes. It needs no account and has no limit.
