# IP lookup: run it free, or from your agent

Country, continent, ASN and network owner for any public IPv4 or IPv6 address.

## Prompt

Use looot to look up these IP addresses: [paste the list]. 1. Set up https://looot.ai/skill.md. 2. Search the catalog for an IP lookup endpoint and check its price before you call. 3. Run it once per address. 4. Return one table with the address, country, ASN and network owner, and flag private or reserved addresses.

## What it needs

An IPv4 or IPv6 address

## What comes back

- country and country code
- continent
- ASN
- AS name, the company that runs the network
- AS domain

## Endpoints and providers

- ipinfo: ipinfo-lite

## What it costs

The tool on the web page runs live at no cost to you and is limited per hour. The results come from public data through looot. For heavier or repeated use, run the same job from your own looot account: looot bills per call and charges nothing while your agent is idle. The live price comes from the catalog and shows on the web page.

## Check a login

See which country and network a suspicious sign-in came from.

## Tag server logs

Have your agent add country and network owner to every address in a log export.

## Spot hosting traffic

An AS name such as a cloud provider tells you the visit came from a server, not a person.

## Check your own IP

Paste your public address to see which network and country the web thinks you are in.

## How do I look up an IP address?

Type the address in the box at the top of this page and press the button. You get the country, continent, ASN and the name of the network that owns it.

## Is this IP lookup free?

Yes. The tool on this page costs you nothing and needs no account. It is limited per hour. For a list of addresses, your agent runs the same lookup on your own looot account.

## Can it find the exact location of an IP address?

No. It returns the country and continent, plus the network that holds the address. It does not return a city, a street or a person. No IP lookup can name the person behind an address.

## What is an ASN?

An autonomous system number identifies one network on the internet, such as an internet provider, a cloud host or a large company. The AS name and AS domain tell you who runs it.

## Does it work with IPv6?

Yes. Paste a full or shortened IPv6 address and it returns the same fields as for IPv4.

## Why does a private address return nothing useful?

Addresses such as 10.0.0.1 or 192.168.1.1 live inside a home or office network and are not routed on the internet. The tool refuses them, because there is no public owner to look up.

## How do I look up many IP addresses at once?

Copy the prompt above into your agent with the list. It runs one lookup per address and returns a single table.

## Where does the data come from?

From IPinfo, through the looot catalog. The provider and the live price show on this page.
