# Case converter: run it free, or from your agent

Converts text to upper, lower, title, sentence, camel, Pascal, snake, kebab, constant and dot case, all at once.

## Prompt

Use looot to turn a provider's field names into my code style. 1. Set up https://looot.ai/skill.md. 2. Search the catalog for [the endpoint I use] and check its price and response fields before you call. 3. List every response field name. 4. Convert each to [camelCase or snake_case]. 5. Return a mapping table from the original name to the new one, ready for a TypeScript type.

## What it needs

Any text, a variable name or a list of names

## What comes back

- upper and lower case
- title and sentence case
- camelCase and PascalCase
- snake_case, kebab-case, CONSTANT_CASE and dot.case

## Endpoints and providers

None. The tool on the web page runs in the browser and calls no endpoint.

## What it costs

Nothing. The tool on the web page runs in the visitor's browser: no account, no API call and no limit per hour. The prompt above runs the same job from your own looot account with current data, billed per call.

## Rename variables

Turn a column name into camelCase for code or snake_case for SQL.

## Fix headlines

Put a title into title case or sentence case for a blog or a slide.

## Clean headers

Convert a list of CSV headers to one style, one per line.

## Calm caps lock

Turn a block of shouting capitals into readable sentence case.

## What cases does it convert to?

Ten: UPPER CASE, lower case, Title Case, Sentence case, camelCase, PascalCase, snake_case, kebab-case, CONSTANT_CASE and dot.case. All ten show at once.

## How does title case handle small words?

Short words such as a, and, of, the and to stay lower case unless they open or close the title, as AP and Chicago style both do. Words already in capitals, such as API, are kept.

## How does it split camelCase?

It breaks at each lower to upper change and keeps runs of capitals together, so parseHTTPResponse becomes parse, HTTP and Response. Digits stay with their word.

## Can I convert a list of names at once?

Yes. The code cases convert each line on its own, so ten column names in give ten converted names out.

## What is the difference between camelCase and PascalCase?

camelCase starts lower case (userId), PascalCase starts upper case (UserId). JavaScript uses camelCase for variables and PascalCase for classes and React components.

## Does sentence case know proper nouns?

No. It capitalises the first letter of each sentence and the word I, and lowers the rest. Fix names and brands by hand afterwards.

## Is my text stored?

No. Conversion runs in your browser as you type.
