# Clay pricing: plans, credits and the real cost per lead

Clay pricing read from Clay's own page: the four plans, what a data credit and an action buy, the real cost per enriched lead, and cheaper per-call routes.

## Summary

Clay pricing has two meters, not one. Every paid plan sells data credits, which pay for third-party data such as emails and phone numbers, and actions, which pay for Clay's own platform work. The plan price is the floor; the number that decides your bill is how many data credits each lead burns.

This post reads Clay's pricing page as it stood on 2026-11-03, lays out the four plans, shows what one data credit costs at the entry paid plan, and turns that into a cost per enriched lead. Then it shows the per-call route an agent can take for the same lookups, with live prices, so you can compare the two on your own list.

## Clay pricing: the four plans

Clay has a Free plan, two self-serve paid plans (Launch and Growth) and a custom Enterprise plan. Every plan has unlimited seats. The paid plans differ in how many data credits and actions they include and in what they connect to: Growth adds CRM sync, HTTP API integrations and webhook signals.

Clay plans: price, data credits and actions. Read on 2026-11-03 from [clay.com/pricing](https://www.clay.com/pricing).

| Plan | Price a month | Data credits | Actions | What it adds |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | 100 a month | 500 a month | Up to 200 rows per table, waterfalls, Claygent, your own API keys |
| Launch | $185 billed monthly, $167 on the annual plan card | 2,500 a month per the FAQ, 3,000 a month per the plan card (30,000 a year on annual) | 15,000 a month | Phone numbers, job change signals, email sending |
| Growth | $495 billed monthly, $446 on the annual plan card | 6,000 a month (72,000 a year on annual) | 40,000 a month | CRM sync, HTTP API integrations, webhook signals, priority support |
| Enterprise | Custom, annual contract | 100,000 and up | 200,000 and up | SSO, SCIM, credit budgeting, a dedicated strategist |

The plan cards show the price with annual billing, which the page says saves 10 percent; the FAQ on the same page gives the monthly price. Data credits pay for third-party data, actions pay for Clay's own platform work. Launch and Growth also sell larger credit and action tiers. Launch credits conflict on the page: the plan card says 3K data credits a month, while the FAQ says Launch includes 2,500 data credits and the tier table prices 2.5K a month at $125, which with $60 for 15K actions makes the $185 FAQ price.

Three details on that page trip people up. The Launch credit count conflicts: the plan card says 3,000 data credits a month, the FAQ says 2,500. The plan cards show the annual price, and the FAQ shows the month-to-month price, so you will see two numbers for the same plan. And both paid plans have bigger tiers: the card shows where each plan starts, not where it tops out.

## What does one Clay data credit buy?

A data credit is Clay's unit for third-party data. Clay's page says a credit starts at five cents and gets cheaper with volume, and that an action costs under a cent. How many credits one enrichment takes depends on the provider Clay calls, and a waterfall that tries three providers can spend credits on more than one of them.

What a Clay data credit costs, and the rules around it. Read on 2026-11-03 from [clay.com/pricing](https://www.clay.com/pricing).

| Item | What the page says |
|---|---|
| One data credit | From $0.05, cheaper as volume grows |
| One action | Under $0.01 |
| Extra credits on Launch and Growth | A 30 percent premium over the plan rate |
| Unused data credits | Roll over up to 2x the monthly amount on Launch and Growth; actions reset each cycle |
| An enrichment that finds nothing | No data credits and no actions charged |
| A run on your own API key | One action, no data credits |
| Launch billed monthly, per data credit (our arithmetic) | $185 / 2,500 = about $0.074, actions included |
| A lead that spends 3 data credits (our arithmetic) | About $0.22 on Launch billed monthly |
| A lead that spends 6 data credits (our arithmetic) | About $0.44 on Launch billed monthly |

The last three rows are our arithmetic on Clay's own numbers, not Clay's: the Launch price divided by the 2,500 data credits its FAQ includes at that price (the plan card says 3,000, which would lower each figure), then times the credits a lead might spend. How many credits a lead spends depends on the providers in your waterfall and how many of them run before one answers.

Three rules in that table matter more than the headline price:

- **No result, no charge.** An enrichment that finds nothing costs no data credits and no actions.
- **Your own keys cost one action.** If you bring an API key for a provider, Clay charges an action and no data credits, and you pay the provider directly.
- **Extra credits cost more.** Running out mid-month on Launch or Growth means buying credits at a premium over the plan rate, so size the plan to your real volume.

## The real cost per enriched lead

Cost per lead is the credits one lead spends times the price of a credit, plus the plan you pay whether you use it or not. On Launch with month-to-month billing, the plan price divided by the 2,500 data credits Clay's FAQ includes at that price gives the effective price of one credit, actions included. The plan card says 3,000 credits instead; the table notes the conflict, and if you get 3,000, each figure drops. The table above works that through for a lead that spends three credits and one that spends six.

Two things move the real number away from that arithmetic:

1. **Unused credits.** Launch and Growth roll unused data credits over up to twice the plan amount, and actions reset each cycle. If you enrich 500 leads in a quiet month, you still paid for the full plan.
2. **Waterfall depth.** A work email that the first provider finds costs one lookup. One that only the third provider finds costs up to three. Your hit rate on the first provider decides most of your cost per lead. The mechanics are in [waterfall enrichment explained](https://looot.ai/blog/waterfall-enrichment-explained).

## Is there a cheaper route than Clay for the same lookups?

For the lookups alone, a per-call route is often cheaper, because you pay only for the calls you make and there is no plan floor. An agent can call the same kind of providers Clay calls, one lookup at a time, and pay each call from one prepaid balance. What you give up is Clay's table editor, its sequencer and its CRM sync.

The table below reads looot's live price for each lookup from the catalog when the page loads.

Enrichment lookups through looot, cheapest live price. Prices read on 2026-11-03 from the live looot catalog. They change when a provider changes its price.

| Option | Cheapest provider | Price per call |
|---|---|---|
| Find a work email | Icypeas | $0.0190 per call |
| Find a mobile number | LeadMagic | $0.0990 per call |
| Enrich a person | Prospeo | $0.0390 per call |
| Enrich a company from its domain | Hunter | $0.0049 per call |

To compare, take the credits a lead spends in your Clay table and price the same steps from this table. ## Run it with an agent

Paste this into Claude Code, Cursor or any agent that reads a skill file. It prices before it spends and stops after five leads.

## What it cannot do

- **Clay's table editor.** looot has no spreadsheet view. Your agent returns results in chat or writes them where you tell it.
- **Scheduled re-enrichment.** Refreshing a list on a timer needs scheduled runs, not available yet. Your agent runs when you ask.
- **Free credit.** looot has no free trial credit; you top up a prepaid balance first, and the price of each call is shown before it runs. See [pricing](https://looot.ai/pricing).

## Questions

### How does Clay pricing work?

Clay has a free plan, two paid self-serve plans called Launch and Growth, and a custom Enterprise plan. The dated table in this post shows each plan's price for month-to-month and annual billing, read from Clay's pricing page on 2026-11-03.

### What is a data credit in Clay pricing?

A data credit pays for third-party data in Clay, such as an email, a phone number or a company record. Clay's page says a credit starts at five cents and gets cheaper with volume.

### What is the difference between data credits and actions in Clay?

Data credits pay for data from Clay's providers. Actions pay for Clay's own platform work, such as running a column or an AI step. Every paid plan includes a set number of each.

### Do Clay credits roll over?

Data credits do, partly. On Launch and Growth, unused data credits roll over up to twice the plan amount. Actions reset at the end of each billing cycle.

### Does Clay charge when an enrichment finds nothing?

No. Clay's pricing page says no data credits and no actions are charged when an enrichment returns nothing.

### How do I work out Clay's cost per enriched lead?

Count the data credits one lead spends in your table, then multiply by the price of one credit on your plan. The worked example in this post does it for three and six credits on Launch.

### Is Clay cheaper with my own API keys?

It can be. A run on your own provider key costs one Clay action and no data credits, and you pay the provider at its own price.

### What does a work email lookup cost through looot?

The live table in this post reads it from the looot catalog when the page loads, for the cheapest provider. Your agent also sees each provider's price before it runs a call.

### Can an AI agent replace Clay?

For lookups and enrichment, often yes: an agent can call the same kind of providers one lookup at a time. It does not replace Clay's table editor, sequencer or CRM sync. The [Clay alternative page](/alternatives/clay) lists which features are covered.

### Is there a free version of Clay?

Yes. Clay's Free plan includes 100 data credits and 500 actions a month, with tables capped at 200 rows and no phone number enrichment.

## For agents

### Price five leads per call

```text
Use looot to enrich leads per call instead of on a credit plan. First set up https://looot.ai/skill.md. For the jobs people.email.find and company.enrich, show me each provider with its price per call. Then, for these 5 people (name and company domain): <paste 5 rows>, find a work email with the cheapest provider and fall back to the next one on a miss, and enrich each company once. Report the cost of each call, the total, and the cost per lead. Do not run more than 15 calls.
```
