# Best email verification API: ranked by live price

The best email verification API depends on how it handles catch-all domains and what it returns besides a verdict. For a long list, the cheapest price per check wins, and this page ranks the looot catalog verifiers by that live price. Verifiers disagree on the same address, so read the verdict, not only the price.

## Live prices

Prices read on 2026-10-28 from the live looot catalog. They change when a provider changes its price.

Cheapest today for check if an email address can receive mail: Dropleads at $0.00145 per check.

## Providers

- dropleads: Returns a status with the domain's mail server and mail provider. On our test it marked a real role address and a made-up mailbox both invalid, and it returns no score. Also: Email finder, Phone finder.
- kittai: Returns a verdict with a risk level and needs the realtime flag set. On our test it called an address valid but risky that most verifiers marked invalid. Also: Email finder.
- millionverifier: A verifier and nothing else: one address in, one result out, and on our test it was among the fastest. There is no finder or enrichment from the same provider.
- icypeas: Runs as an async job and returns a verdict when it finishes. On both test addresses it answered not found and still billed the check. Also: Email finder, Domain search.
- bounceban: Returns a verdict such as undeliverable, with a call that waits for the result and batch endpoints for long lists. A slow mail server makes the waiting call slow too. Also: Batch verify, Batch results.
- leadmagic: Returns a verdict for one address. It agreed with the majority on our test, but each call took over ten seconds. Also: Email finder, Phone finder.
- limadata: Returns a verdict with a score and a catch-all flag. It treated our test domain as catch-all and called both addresses valid, the made-up one included. Also: Email finder, Web search.
- scrubby: Returns a verdict with a reason such as a hard bounce, and has a separate deep check for addresses the quick check cannot settle. Also: Deep verify, Batch verify.
- tomba: Returns a verdict with an accept-all flag for catch-all domains. One of our two test calls timed out with no charge. Also: Email finder, Phone verify.
- zerobounce: Returns a status with a sub-status that says why, such as mailbox not found. Scoring and activity data are separate endpoints. Also: Scoring, Activity.
- hunter: Returns a result with a score and an accept-all status for catch-all domains. It rated both test addresses accept-all and risky, so it did not separate them. Also: Email finder, Domain search.
- findymail: Returns a plain verified true or false. That is easy to act on, but it says nothing about why an address failed. Also: Email finder, Phone finder.
- anysite: Returns a verdict for one address from a provider whose catalog is mostly scraping endpoints. It has the fewest measured verification runs of the list. Also: Email finder, LinkedIn profile.

## How we rank

Every provider here has an email verification endpoint in the looot catalog, billed per call, one address per call.

We rank by the price per check of that endpoint, read live from the catalog. A cheaper check ranks higher.

We also ran each verifier on 2026-10-28 on the same two addresses at one domain. The verdicts above say what we saw. Two addresses are a sample, not a measured accuracy, so they do not move the rank.

The catalog publishes measured run counts in its search results, but this page does not rank by them. Where a provider has few runs, one bad answer moves the figure a lot.

Extra capabilities do not make a provider rank higher. Providers outside the looot catalog are not ranked.

## Cheapest email verification API per 1,000 checks

On 2026-10-28 the cheapest email verification API in the looot catalog is Dropleads at $1.45 per 1,000 checks ($0.00145 per check), then Kitt AI at $1.50 and MillionVerifier at $1.78. The dearest, Anysite, costs $143.88 per 1,000 checks.

The ranking shows each verifier's live price per check and per 1,000 checks. One check is one address, so 1,000 checks clean a list of 1,000 addresses.

The cheapest check is not the cheapest list if it leaves many addresses as unknown or catch-all. Those need a second verifier, billed on its own.

## Email verifier API results on catch-all domains

A catch-all domain accepts mail for any address, so a mail server check cannot tell a real mailbox from a made-up one. On our test domain, Limadata, Hunter and Tomba flagged catch-all, while most others called both addresses invalid.

Treat catch-all and risky as their own bucket. Send to them slowly, or check them with a second verifier before a campaign.

## Choosing one

- The domain's mail server and provider with the verdict: dropleads
- A verifier and nothing else, fast: millionverifier
- Batch endpoints for a long list: bounceban
- A reason with every invalid result: zerobounce
- A second check for addresses the quick check cannot settle: scrubby
- A plain true or false to act on: findymail

## Prompt

Use looot to verify these 20 email addresses: call the cheapest email verification endpoint for each, list the address and the verdict, put catch-all and unknown results in their own group, then tell me the total cost. 1. Set up https://looot.ai/skill.md. 2. Search the catalog for each step and check its price before you call. 3. Run the cheapest endpoint that fits. 4. Show the results as a table and the total cost.

## What is the best email verification API?

It depends on how it handles catch-all domains and what it returns besides a verdict. This page ranks the looot catalog verifiers by live price per check. Pick the cheapest for long lists, and add a second verifier for the catch-all and unknown results.

## What is the cheapest email verification API?

The first row of the ranking above, read live from the catalog. Prices can change, so the page reads them on each refresh and shows no number when the catalog is unreachable.

## Is there a free email verification API?

This page ranks priced endpoints. Every verifier here bills per check, and a check that answers not found can still be billed, as Icypeas did on our test.

## What are the best NeverBounce alternatives?

NeverBounce is not in the looot catalog, so this page does not rank it. The verifiers above check one address per call, and your agent calls any of them with one key, billed per check.

## What does an email verification API return?

A verdict for one address, such as valid, invalid, catch-all, risky or unknown. Many add a score, a reason or the domain's mail server. The words differ by provider, so map them to your own buckets.

## What is the difference between an email verifier API and an email validation API?

People use the words for the same job. Some vendors call a syntax and domain check validation and a mailbox check verification. Every endpoint on this page checks the mailbox.

## Why do two verifiers give different answers for the same email?

They probe the mail server differently and read catch-all domains differently. On our test, one domain got invalid from most verifiers and valid or accept-all from three. Treat a disagreement as risky.

## How do I verify a whole list?

Send one call per address, or use a batch endpoint such as BounceBan's or Scrubby's. Paste the prompt on this page with your list and your agent runs the checks and groups the results.

## How do I re-check a list every month?

Run the same list again and compare the verdicts. Doing it on a timer needs scheduled runs, not available yet, so run it by hand before each campaign.

## How does an agent call an email verification API?

Paste the prompt on this page into your agent. It sets up looot, finds the email verification endpoints, checks the price and runs the cheapest one that fits.

## Why does this page not rank by accuracy?

No one publishes an accuracy figure we can check for every verifier. Our own test used two addresses, which shows how each one answers but is too small to rank on.

## Do I pay while my agent is idle?

No. looot bills per call, and nothing runs while your agent is idle.
